According to the ministry, three cases of death due to infection have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, including one patient each from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

New Delhi: There is a significant decline in the speed of coronavirus in India, while the number of patients recovering from the infection is also increasing. With the arrival of 1,216 new cases of coronavirus infection in India in the last 24 hours, the total number of infected in the country has increased to 4,46,58,365, while the number of active patients i.e. patients under treatment has come down from 16 thousand to 15,705. Let us tell you that after months the active cases have come down to 16 thousand.

According to the latest data, the number of patients under treatment for coronavirus infection in India has come down from 16,098 to 15,705, which is 0.04 percent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, there has been a decrease in the number of patients under treatment by 393. At the same time, the national rate of recovery of patients has increased to 98.78 percent. According to the data, a total of 4,41,12,181 patients have become infection free in the country so far, while the death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.19 percent. At the same time, 219.69 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

Significantly, on 7 August 2020, the number of coronaviruses infected in India exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh, and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020, and 90 lakh on 20 November. On December 19, 2020, these cases exceeded one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 25 this year, the total cases of infection had crossed four crores.


🌑 As many as 119 persons tested positive in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Chennai logged 30 fresh infections. Kanniyakumari had 10 cases, and Chengalpattu and Coimbatore reported eight cases each.

🌑 The State has reported 35,92,696 cases to date. As many as 204 persons were discharged in the State, taking the total number of recoveries to 35,53,509. As of date, a total of 1,139 persons were undergoing treatment across the State, of which 249 were in Chennai, 72 in Coimbatore, 70 in Chengalpattu, and 65 in Kanniyakumari.

🌑 A total of 8,664 samples were tested on Saturday. Due to administrative reasons, two private laboratories — Bharat Speciality Labs, Vanarapettai, Tirunelveli, and Hitech Diagnostic Centre, Chinna Chokkikulam, Madurai — were temporarily removed from the ICMR’s list of approved labs for COVID-19 testing.
