Ahmedabad: After the ongoing political tussle regarding the assembly elections in Gujarat, big action has been seen. Gujarat ATS i.e. Anti-Terrorism Squad has taken big action against drugs and it has seized drugs i.e. banned MD drug worth about Rs 500 crore by raiding a manufacturing unit located on the outskirts of Vadodara city. An ATS official gave this information on Wednesday.

The official said that a preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were manufacturing MD medicine under the guise of manufacturing legal chemicals, which fall under the category of narcotics.

The officer said that the campaign is going on to bust the entire gang. However, he did not give further details. Officials had earlier told that the ATS had seized 200 kg of mephedrone, estimated to be worth around Rs 1,000 crore, from a factory near Vadodara city in August this year.

The results of the Gujarat assembly elections will come on December 8 along with Himachal Pradesh. For the last 27 years, the BJP has been in power in Gujarat, but this time with the strong entry of the Aam Aadmi Party, the contest is expected to be triangular.
