The officials praised the 63-acre Narendra Modi Stadium inside the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave for its capacity of 1.15 lakh spectators, which goes up to 1.32 lakh if other staff and office-bearers are added.
Recently, the Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MCG) was packed with 98,000 spectators during the India-Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup. In comparison, the Narendra Modi Stadium could hold 32 Olympic-sized football fields.
