New Delhi. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Friday that before the end of 2024, India’s road infrastructure will be at par with the US. Addressing the 95th annual conference of FICCI, Nitin Gadkari said that we are making world-class road infrastructure in the country and promise you that before the end of the year 2024, our road infrastructure will be equal to the standard of America. On the issue of logistics cost, Nitin Gadkari said that by the end of 2024, there is an effort to take it up to 9 percent.
Nitin Gadkari said that the cost of our logistics is a big problem. At present, it is 16 percent, but I promise you that by the end of the year 2024, we will reduce it to 9 percent in single digits. Talking about the construction industry which consumes 40 percent of the world’s resources, Nitin Gadkari said that we are trying to reduce the use of steel in construction work by adopting other alternatives. Gadkari said that we know that the construction industry not only contributes a lot to environmental pollution but also consumes more than 40 percent of the world’s goods and resources.
Nitin Gadkari said that we are focusing on reducing the cost of resources and improving the quality of construction. Cement and steel are the main materials for construction. So we are trying to reduce the use of steel in construction work by trying to adopt alternatives. Nitin Gadkari also emphasized that India is in a better position to establish itself as an energy exporter. He said that green hydrogen would be a major source of energy in the near future. Gadkari said that green hydrogen would be a major source of energy in the future in aviation, railways, road transport, chemical, and fertilizer industries.
