‘Didn’t come back home…’ Martyrdom of three sons of Rajasthan in Sikkim road accident, silence spread in the villages

Jaisalmer / Jodhpur / Jhunjhunu. Three of the 16 soldiers of the Indian Army who were killed in a road accident in Sikkim are from Rajasthan. Among them, one jawan was from Jaisalmer, the other from Jhunjhunu, and the third from Jodhpur. There is a wave of mourning in the state due to the information of the martyrdom of three sons of Rajasthan in the accident. After the information about the martyrdom, a crowd of villagers gathered at the houses of the martyrs. The mortal remains of the martyrs will reach their native villages in a day or two. However, the villagers are engaged in consoling the families of the martyrs.
According to the information, on Friday, an Indian Army truck fell into a ditch while turning on a turn and crashed in Jema, North Sikkim. In this painful accident, 16 army personnel including three Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) of the army were martyred. Three of these jawans were residents of Rajasthan. These include Subedar Guman Singh Solanki of Jaisalmer, Manoj Kumar of Jhunjhunu, and Sukhram of Jodhpur.
Subedar Guman Singh was about to retire after 10 months
Subedar Guman Singh Solanki, a resident of Joga village of Ramgarh police station area of Jaisalmer, had gone to Sikkim after taking leave 5 days ago. His family consists of a mother, a wife, and 5 children. Guman Singh, the son of a farmer’s father, had joined the Indian Army 27 years ago. He was about to retire after 10 months. Solanki had served in many places including Srinagar and Leh Ladakh in his 27 years of service. He was sent to Sikkim from Andhra Pradesh some time ago. Before going to Sikkim, he had come to Jaisalmer to meet his family for 7 days. Guman Singh has 2 elder brothers. An elder brother Amar Singh has retired after serving in the army.
Manoj Kumar had talked to his wife shortly before the accident
Manoj Kumar, the second soldier who was martyred in the Sikkim accident, was a resident of Majri village of Buhana in the Jhunjhunu district. According to the information, Manoj had talked to his wife Jyoti shortly before leaving in the truck. Manoj was about to come home on leave after 10 days. Manoj Kumar was the eldest of three brothers. Due to the news of Manoj’s martyrdom, silence has spread in the village. Sukhram, the third son who was martyred in the accident, was a resident of the Jodhpur district.
