Municipal Election Bihar Result: The results of the municipal elections held in the second phase in Bihar have been declared. In the 17 municipal corporations included in these, BJP-backed candidates are contesting for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor. Patna. The election results of a total of 68 municipal bodies including 17 municipal corporations of the second and final phase of Bihar municipal elections came till late evening of Friday. With this, out of a total of 1529 posts, the results of Ward Councilor 1423, Chief Councilor 68, and Deputy Chief Councilor 68 were declared by the Commission. It is clear from the result of counting that despite non-partisan elections, most of the municipal corporations including Patna were won by the BJP-backed mayor and deputy mayor.
These include Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, Chhapra, Bhagalpur, Katihar, and Arrah. However, in some municipal bodies, candidates with the support of the grand alliance have also emerged victorious. The JDU-supported mayor has won in Bihar Sharif, Begusarai, Munger, and Purnia. The RJD-supported candidate was victorious in Motihari. Whereas in Samastipur, former Congress leader Anita Ram won.
In Samastipur, the Congress had supported Sandhya Hazari, wife of Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari, for the post of Mayor, but Sandhya Hazari had to settle for the third position. Similarly, in Gaya also the mayor supported by the Grand Alliance was victorious. The election results of many municipal bodies were also unexpected. Despite the mobilization by the parties at the state level, the matter did not materialize and independent candidates also won.
