Phnom Penh. At least 10 people have died and 30 others have been injured in a massive fire at a hotel in Cambodia. According to a report by the news agency AFP, about 50 people are reported to be trapped in the Grand Diamond City Hotel in Poipet. In shocking footage from the spot, people can be seen jumping from the fifth floor. Partial collapse of the building has also been reported during this tragic accident, while firefighters later claimed about 70% control over the fire.
According to media reports, around 53 people have been rescued from the building by 8.30 am local time. People around are also supporting the officials to speed up the emergency rescue process. Reports said the fire had been burning “uncontrollably” for about six hours at the hotel and casino complex, with a video clip showing a large section of the roof still burning.

The rescue team from Thailand
Seeing the uncontrolled fire, Cambodia called emergency crews from Thailand to control the fire. According to local media, most of the dead in the massive fire at the Grand Diamond City Casino and Hotel in Poipet, Cambodia, are Thai citizens. 30 people have also been injured due to the flames, breathing in smoke, and jumping from several floors above. The fire reportedly started due to an explosion in a gas tank on the casino side of the complex.
