How strange is our solar system, why such a planetary system could not be discovered?
In astronomy, 30 years ago, a planet outside the Solar System (Exoplanet) was discovered. Since then, thousands of stars and their planetary systems have been discovered, but surprisingly, not a single one of them is similar to our solar system, let alone similar to it. In the new analysis, scientists have said that this does not mean that such a solar system cannot exist, just that it will be beyond our technical capabilities.

In the year 1992, for the first time, two planets (Exoplanets Outside our Solar system) were discovered outside our solar system, then they were revolving around a star. Since then thousands of Planetary Systems in the Milky Way have been discovered in our Milkyway Galaxy itself. All these planetary systems are very different from our solar system. In such a situation, questions have been arising whether in reality there is no planetary system like our solar system. In a new analysis, researchers have explained why we haven’t found a planetary system like ours yet and whether or not there is any possibility of finding one in the future. It is also closely related to the techniques of finding our exoplanets.
Many people wonder that when our solar system has so much diversity and characteristics, how can there be any other planetary system like it. Scientists say that if seen only in terms of numbers, then the situation looks really worrying. Many of the discovered exoplanets are not the ones where the possibility of life is visible, but they are also not the ones that are like the rest of the planets in our solar system.
Some special planets
Most of the extraterrestrials are very close to their star, due to which their temperature is very high, so it is useless to expect the possibility of life there. For this, scientists have created a set of characteristics of the Earth, on the basis of which the outer planets can be placed in the category of the habitable planets or habitable planets. In this, the rockiness of the planet and a certain radius of distance from its star are important.
Far exceeded expectations
The universe outside our solar system is very different from our expectations. Initially, we had this image in our mind that the planetary systems that would be outside the solar system would be similar to our solar system in which the nearby planets would be small and stony and the distant planets would be giant and gaseous. But observing exoplanets is not an easy task. Observing distant planetary systems like our solar system would take many years.

By no means is an exception
But the exoplanets discovered so far have been found to be very different from what was expected. Many of these gaseous planets, twice the size of Jupiter (and even more than that), have been seen orbiting very close to their star, whose one cycle is about 4-5 days. At the same time, the temperature of their atmosphere is one thousand degree Celsius. Astronomers find that such hot Jupiters are no exception
The truth is that we now know that there is much more diversity in the Galaxy than it would be correct to believe that the Milky Way Galaxy is all or something similar. Perhaps the matter is more of our capabilities. That’s why at present it is technically not possible for us to find solar systems like ours.
How to search
It is not easy to search for any distant planet because they do not have any light of their own. While revolving around their star, at one time they come between us and the light of their star, due to which there is a difference in the brightness of the star. By studying this, scientists search for extraterrestrials, which they call transit technology. With this, the planets near the star are easily caught. On the other hand, in the radial velocity method, the wobble of the star shows the effect of the planet on it. Both methods require very careful observation.

It is clear that at present we do not have any such technology by which small planets cannot be discovered. Yes, some planets of slightly larger size than Earth have been discovered, which are called mini Neptune or Super Earth, whose number is not less, but still there are many such planets which are Earth or smaller and those planets which are close to their stars. They have not yet been discovered far enough away. There are high hopes from the James Webb Space Telescope regarding the planets of the Super Earth category. But there is another truth that needs to be understood. Three-quarters of the stars in the Galaxy are red dwarf stars whose planets are difficult to find with these techniques. Now we have to wait for better and more advanced technology.
