New Delhi. After the skirmish between Chinese soldiers with the Indian Army in Arunachal Pradesh, anger has increased in the country about China and its effect is now being seen in the products coming from China as well. In fact, there is resentment among Indian citizens due to this dispute regarding the border dispute and they have started boycotting Chinese goods. This is directly affecting the business, so the business organization Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written a letter to the Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, requesting a change in the import of goods and e-commerce policy. The traders’ association has demanded to compulsorily mention the name of ‘country of origin’ on every product.
The traders have made this demand at a time when India-China relations are passing through a period of tension due to the military standoff in Tawang. According to an ANI report, there was a protest against Chinese goods at Connaught Place in the national capital.
Consumers in a dilemma – which item is made in China
CTI President Brijesh Goyal said, “We have urged the Central Government that it should be made mandatory to write the name of the country of origin on imported goods, as there is no information in this regard on many things. Especially on e-commerce sites, consumers do not know where the goods they buy are manufactured.
‘Attack on us by earning money from us’
He said that when people do not want to buy Chinese products, they still buy them because the ‘country of origin’ is not mentioned on them. The trader’s body official said that if the ‘name of the country of origin’ is written on the products, then Indians can boycott Chinese goods. According to the news agency ANI, CTI requested the central government to work on such a policy and make changes in its e-commerce and import policy. Brijesh Goyal said that China earns money from Indian markets and is misusing it against our country only.
He said, “We have to break the economic back of China. Bilateral trade between India and China has crossed $103.63 billion in the first 9 months of this year. At the same time, the domestic trade deficit has increased to more than $ 75.69 billion. During this period, India’s exports from China stood at $89.66 billion.
Stayed.”
