But have you ever heard that the sale of milk increased during the cricket match between India and Pakistan? In fact, a report of online food and grocery delivery companies has come out regarding this. 

According to this report, Instamart distributed more than 4.38 crore packets of milk in 2022. Milk was the second most ordered item on the instant delivery platform operated by Swiggy. The special thing is that during the T20 World Cup, maximum orders of milk were given. Dunzo also said that milk became the most ordered item on the app across all cities. Swiggy analyzed the data between January and November 2022.
Revealed from the data of Instamart
Instant data has revealed that in 2022, Bengaluru consumers placed the maximum number of orders on online platforms. Overall, over 50 users spent over ₹2,00,000 on groceries in a month. A single user from Bengaluru spent over ₹16,60,000 on buying groceries and essentials on Instamart.
Giving information about the orders on its platform, Swiggy said, “While Bengaluru turned to the quickest commerce groceries in 2022, a user from Gurgaon ordered the most 1,542 times in 11 months.”

There was also a demand for non-alcoholic beer during the match.
Last year, Swiggy Instamart saw a 305.55% increase in tea orders; Coffee orders saw a jump of 273.67%. Meanwhile, users of the platform placed orders for over 5 million kilograms of organic fruits and vegetables from the cities of Bengaluru, Mumbai Hyderabad, Pune, and Delhi, increasing the demand for such products.
More than 17 lakh kg of exotic fruits such as dragon fruit, pomelo, berry, and wood apple have been ordered on the platform. Meanwhile, during sporting events such as T20 matches, there was a demand for non-alcoholic beer, especially when India faced Pakistan. There was a jump of 86% in the demand for this category on the day of the match.
