Mumbai: Navy got the fifth Scorpene submarine ‘Wazir’, the specialty is that the enemies will be left out
The fifth Kalavari class submarine ‘Wazir’ of Project 75, Yard 11879, was commissioned into the Indian Navy today. This submarine is being built in collaboration with Jhagaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and M/s Naval Group of France. It will soon be officially inducted into the Navy.

Mumbai: ‘Wazir’, the fifth Kalavari class submarine of Project 75, Yard 11879, has been inducted into the Indian Navy today. In Project-75, six submarines of Scorpene design have been indigenously built, including the submarine ‘Wazir’. This submarine is being built in collaboration with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and M/s Naval Group of France. Submarine ‘Wazir’ started its maiden sea trial voyage on February 1, 2022. It is a matter of great pride that it has completed all its major trials in less time than all the previous submarines. Submarine ‘Wazir’ has successfully passed the intensive sea trials of all its systems including the propulsion systems, weapons, and sensors.
Make in India project
Since building a submarine is a very complex process in which all equipment has to be miniaturized and high quality has to be maintained. The construction of these submarines in Project-75 in Indian shipyards encourages the government’s campaign of Make in India and self-reliant India and increases confidence in this sector. Another specialty of this project has been that in a span of just 24 months, it has given the third submarine to the Indian Navy.
Officially inducted into the Navy soon
The submarine will soon be inducted into the Indian Navy and the capability of the Indian Navy will be increased.
