New Delhi. For the purpose of strengthening the army, the Defense Procurement Council of the Ministry of Defense has approved the purchase of military equipment worth Rs 84,328 crore. In the meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, 24 proposals for the three wings of the army and the Coast Guard were approved. In view of ‘Make in India’, out of these 24 proposals, 21 proposals will be purchased from indigenous companies.
Of these proposals, 6 are for the Army, 6 for the Air Force, 10 for the Navy, and two for the Coast Guard. Futuristic Infantry Combat Vehicle for Army, Light Tank, Mounted Gun System, Ballistic Helmet, Anti Ship Missile for the Navy, Multi-Purpose Vessel, New Range Missile System for Air Force, Long Range Guided Bomb, Next Generation Offshore for Coast Guard Petrol Vessel Included.
