Seoul. The US Army present in South Korea has started a new Space Force unit in view of the growing threat of North Korea. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, the US on Wednesday launched a new Space Force unit as part of a strategy to accelerate efforts to better counter North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats. ‘US Space Forces Korea’ is the second foreign space component of the Space Force and will work to strengthen the overall space capability of the military along with monitoring, identifying, and tracking incoming missiles.
According to the report, General Paul LaCamera, commander of US Forces Korea, also hosted a ceremony at Osan Air Base in the South Korean city of Pyeongtaek to mark the creation of the unit. In view of the danger of intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching mainland of America, the US military does not want to take any kind of risk. In such a situation, they will be able to stop this danger that is flourishing on the island of Korea in time.
