According to the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, on January 15, a man in a small town in New Jersey found an alligator inside a plastic storage container in a parking lot near his home. When New Jersey resident Angel Rosario opened the container, a three-foot-long alligator was found in it, after which she immediately called 911 and Animal Control to inform them about the alligator.

After this, the alligator was brought to a shelter of the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty, where it was given a place to live in a clean tank. Sharing the details of the incident, MCSPCA shared the photo of the alligator and wrote, ‘Late last night an alligator was released in a plastic container in a vacant lot on Bangs Avenue.
It is being told that the alligator will soon be sent to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife. “It is illegal for New Jersey residents to keep alligators or caimans, which are considered potentially dangerous exotic species,” Ross Licitra, director of the Monmouth County SPCA, said in a statement. Not only is it a danger to people. Rather, these animals require very special care when kept in captivity.
