According to top intelligence sources, “The terrorist theater is moving towards Jammu as now there are more Kashmiri Pandits in the region, which makes it easier to kill the target.” How badly is the administration working? Their aim is also to create communal division. It also shows the resumption of terrorist activities in the Jammu region.
The Resistance Front (TRP) has denied that it was a terrorist attack, but intelligence sources said that the firing and improvised explosive device (IED) blast indicated that the attack was carried out by professionals. He said that such attacks are usually carried out by Lashkar terrorists.
Village Defense Committees
Ground intelligence reports suggest that the killing of six people, including two children from the Hindu community, in a terrorist attack in a Rajouri village could lead to a communal divide. Along with this, it has been said in the report that the government should look into its promise of re-establishing VDC in Jammu. VDC aims to fight terrorism, provide hi-tech weapons and ensure equal pay for its members.
When and where was VDC formed?
The VDC was formed in 1995 to fight terrorists in remote areas with 26,567 locals in 10 districts of the Jammu region. In the 1990s, when militancy and violence were at their peak in Jammu and Kashmir, the VDC helped and protected people in remote areas. The committees were credited with fighting terrorists and preventing the exodus of local people, especially in the wake of several killings in 2001. Most of the VDCs were disbanded by the previous governments.
In two terrorist attacks in Rajouri, six people including real brothers and sisters were killed
Significantly, in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked the same place for the second time within 14 hours. Two real siblings were killed and six others injured in an IED blast on Monday. According to officials, Saanvi Sharma (7) and Vihaan Kumar Sharma (4) were killed in the blast in Danger village. In this village, the terrorists opened fire on Sunday evening, in which four people were killed and six others were injured.
DGP Dilbag Singh visited the spot
Amid protests and a complete shutdown in the entire district including Rajouri town due to the incident, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh visited the spot and said that the IED (explosive device) blast was aimed at senior officials, who were about to reach there. He has announced that the Village Defense Committees (VDCs) will be re-armed. In fact, some protest leaders and local people have claimed that the incident could have been avoided if the authorities had not taken back the VDC’s weapons.
