Separate toilet, ramp, and much more… Arrangements will be permanent in the polling station, no longer temporary 

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar made another big announcement in Wednesday’s press conference that now the toilets, ramps and water facilities provided at polling stations will be made permanent instead of temporary as before.

New Delhi. The Election Commission on Wednesday announced the dates for the assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar (CEC Rajiv Kumar) told in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon that assembly elections will be held in Tripura on February 16, while Meghalaya and Nagaland will vote for the assembly elections on February 27. The Election Commission also told that the results of the assembly elections in the three states will be clear on March 2 with the counting of votes.

Another big announcement made by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar in Wednesday’s press conference is that now the toilets, ramps, and water facilities provided at the polling stations will not be made temporary but permanent as before.

CEC Rajiv Kumar said, ‘We have now made a rule that the toilets, ramps, and water facilities provided at the polling stations should be permanent and not temporary.’ This decision of the Election Commissioner will be like a gift for those schools which do not have these facilities.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar also told that there will be more than 9000 polling stations in all three states. Of these, there will be 376 such which will be completely operated by women.

He said in the press conference that 2.23 lakh new voters have been added in all three states. Along with this, a provision of advance notice has been made for those people, whose age is between 17 and 18 years, so that they get a voter card as soon as they turn 18 and their name is added to the voter list. He told that 10,000 such people have got registered in all three states.
