New Delhi. India’s number one sprinter Dutee Chand has been found guilty of using a banned anabolic steroid in an out-of-tournament test and has been provisionally suspended. Dutee, who finished second in the 100 and 200 meters at the 2018 Asian Games, is the current national champion in the 100 meters.
The notification issued by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) said, “Dutee Chand has been found guilty of consuming Andarine, Ostarine, and Ligandrol.” In a letter to Dutee, the AAF notification said, “I inform you that your A sample has been tested at NDTL (National Dope Test Laboratory) as per WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) procedure and the result has come positive.
This sample was taken on December 5 last year in an out-of-tournament competition. In the letter, Dutee Chand has also been warned about its consequences. It said, “Read the contents of the letter carefully, which has been told about its consequences.”
At the same time, Dutee Chand says that she does not know anything about this. When contacted, Dutee Chand said, “I have not received any information about this. I have given many tests, but AFI has not told me anything. I am getting information about this from social media only.
