A late goal by Kaoru Mitoma pushed Brighton to the 5th round in the FA Cup at the expense of the holders Liverpool.

The teams appeared to be all set to play an Anfield replay in the closing minutes of the game which had seen an early Harvey Elliott opener quickly canceled out by Lewis Dunk.

Mitoma, however, produced an impressive finish at end of the game to secure another Seagulls victory over Jurgen Klopp’s team after just 2 weeks.

It also could have ended any expectations of the Reds winning any award this year, just as a matter of months after coming close to winning a quadruple.

Reds tend to cling to positives
When the game was entering the 90th minute of game It appeared as if Liverpool were on track for another impressive win, with positive effects on their confidence as they continue to attempt to turn their season around.
But, while the loss of the late win could alter the views, Klopp has little choice other than to focus on the positives that came from a humbling loss.
The biggest benefit was the massive increase in the Reds’ defense structure in comparison to a 3-0 loss (and the score could’ve been even more) in this venue just two weeks earlier.
If Liverpool is able to continue this way, they’ll start winning games more often going forward although it is likely to be a significant factor in these incredibly disappointing seasons.
Bajcetic is a good example of how to be successful
One of the main reasons for the Red’s recent improvements especially in the middle of the stadium has been the rise of the teen Stefan Bajcetic as a genuine alternative.
The Spaniard was once more impressive, bursting into difficult situations and using the ball in a smart way in tight areas to stop Brighton’s press. Brighton Press.
The significance of his performance was most evident in the poor performance of off-the-field Fabinho in the final minutes of an appearance that should have had the player dismissed.
Bajcetic is Klopp’s preferred choice No.6 because of one reason: he’s an excellent choice over any advanced teammates.
Brighton’s dream season isn’t over yet.
While the majority of the attention will be focused on Liverpool losing hope of winning another trophy evaporate it’s only right to pay Brighton their due.
This match proved that their victory against Reds Reds last time was not a fluke regardless of the fact that they did not think it nearly as simple to cut through their opponents in the latest match.
Many people would have been worried about the Seagulls following their loss to Graham Potter to Chelsea, however, it appears that they have actually been able to improve with the help of Roberto Di Zerbi.
There’s no team in England who would be content to play them at the end of next week’s round.
