Islamabad. Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir has claimed that former Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa was running backdoor diplomacy with India. He did not inform the then PM Imran Khan about this. Bajwa was having many secret talks with India without informing the government and the army. Hamid has also given many examples. In an article written in Daily Jung, Hamid made sensational revelations. Hamid Mir has written that in June 2019, ISI chief Syed Asim Munir was suddenly removed from the post because he was becoming a hindrance in Bajwa’s backdoor diplomacy with India.
Hamid Mir has written that the decision to open the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims was also possible because of Bajwa. Bajwa had also ignored the report of the UN High Commissioner for this. Hamid has claimed that even in February 2021, the shocking announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan was also made due to backdoor diplomacy. In this regard, UAE Ambassador to America Yusuf Al Otaiba had told that there was a discussion between Faiz Hameed and Ajit Doval in Dubai.
