New Delhi. The Delhi Police Commissioner has banned the use of aerial equipment like paragliders, and paramotors in Delhi keeping in mind the input of terrorist activities just before 26th January. Under this, there will also be a complete ban on hang gliders, unmanned aerial aircraft like toys, unmanned aircraft systems, microlight aircraft, remotely operated aircraft, drones, hot air balloons, small powered aircraft, quadcopters, and para jumping, etc. . This order has been issued by the Delhi Police Commissioner on Monday. It has been told in the order that under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, violation of the rule will come under the category of crime. This ban will remain in force till February 15.
This order has been issued by the Commissioner of Delhi Police at a time when the Delhi Police arrested two people and recovered 34 pistols from their possession and busted the arms supply gang. The accused have been identified as Naved Rana (21) and Salim (39), residents of the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. Police said that the consignment of weapons was to be delivered to a member of the Gogi gang.
Earlier, officials had told on January 20 that the Delhi Police has intensified anti-terror measures and increased patrolling in the national capital ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. He told that all the Assistant Commissioners of Police and Station House Officers are holding a meeting with the members of ‘The Resident Welfare Association’ and ‘Market Welfare Association and informing them about the security measures taken for Republic Day.
The police have also urged people to be alert and informed about anything suspicious. Officials said that Delhi Police is also running an awareness campaign on social media.
