Tehran. Big news has come out from the city of Isfahan in Iran. There was a huge explosion in a military factory here on Sunday. Iranian state media on Sunday cited the Defense Ministry as saying that the blast was caused by a ‘failed’ drone attack. The ministry said in a statement to the state news agency IRNA that one drone was shot down and the other drone was captured and destroyed.
According to the news agency Reuters, the ministry further said in its statement that fortunately, there was no loss of life in this unsuccessful attack and minor damage to the roof of the factory. Iranian news agencies had earlier reported a loud explosion and played a video showing flashes of light at the factory, which was said to be an ammunition factory. Emergency vehicles and fire trucks were also seen outside the factory in this video.
Earlier in July last year, Iran had said that it had arrested a team of Kurdish militants working for Israel. They had planned to blow up a ‘sensitive’ military factory in Isfahan. This announcement was made amid growing tension with Israel regarding Tehran’s nuclear program. At the same time, Israel says that Iran wants to develop nuclear weapons. But Iran has been continuously denying it.
At the same time, in the statement of the Iranian Defense Ministry, it has been said that the attack has not affected their military factory. And this kind of attack conspiracy is not going to affect the progress of the country. It is known that in the last few years, there have been many explosions and fires around Iranian military, nuclear and industrial facilities. The explosions have repeatedly raised concerns amid tensions over Iran’s nuclear program with Israel and the United States.
