According to the news agency AP, this decision deepened the disputes regarding the power of the courts in Israel and it could also create a crisis in front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The court said that the head of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, Aryeh Deri, is disqualified as a minister after being convicted in a case of ‘tax crimes’. Although Derry had said not to leave the post.
