Kerala rape case: A Kerala court has sentenced a man, convicted of raping his daughter and impregnating her, to three life terms for offenses under the POCSO Act. The court said that he will remain in jail for the rest of his life. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 6.6 lakh on the person. The first incident of rape with the victim girl was carried out by her father in March 2021. No one else was at home at that time.

Malappuram. A Kerala court on Monday sentenced a man to three life terms for repeatedly raping his minor daughter and impregnating her. This person, who tarnished the relationship between father and daughter, will now have to spend the rest of his life behind bars. The case’s prosecutor (SPP) A Somasundaran said Manjeri Fast Track Special Court judge Rajesh K had been convicted rape, serious offenses under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. The accused was held guilty of sexual harassment and sexual assault as well as of intimidation of the victim.

SPP A Somasundaran said that the convicted man was sentenced to three life terms for offenses under the POCSO Act and the court directed that he would remain in prison for the rest of his life. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 6.6 lakh on the man who raped his daughter. Giving information about the matter, the SPP said that the first incident of rape with the girl was carried out by her father in March 2021, when there was no one in the house. At that time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 15-year-old girl’s online classes were going on and she was studying, when her father dragged her to his bedroom and raped her.

SPP A Somasundaran said that when the victim protested, her father threatened to kill her mother. After this, the convicted person raped his daughter several times till October 2021. This person was earlier a teacher in a madrasa. When the classes resumed in November 2021, the victim started going to school and had some stomach pain during that time. For he was taken to the doctor, but nothing was found. When he again complained of pain in January 2022, he was taken to a government medical college. Where it was found that the girl was pregnant. After that, the girl revealed the whole matter.

After this, the matter was informed to the police. A case was registered against the accused father and he was arrested. While the victim girl was aborted and the DNA samples of the fetus were kept. The samples were later matched with the DNA of the girl and her father. The DNA evidence along with the statements of the victim and her mother were essential to convict the accused. The trial of the case was conducted expeditiously so that the accused could not come out of jail and could not influence the victim or the witnesses.
