Men’s National Boxing Championships: Shiv Thapa’s golden punch … lashed out at the opposing boxer 

Men’s National Boxing Championships: 6-time Asian medalist experienced boxer Shiv Thapa of Assam captured gold in his own style. He didn’t let the opponent run. On the other hand, Mohammad Hussamuddin also became National Champion in his category.

New Delhi. Veteran boxers Shiva Thapa and Mohammad Hussamuddin have become national champions in their respective categories. Record 6-time Asian medalist Shiva Thapa (63.5kg) defeated Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) 2021 World Youth Championships bronze medalist Ankit Narwal 5-0 in the final.

On the other hand, boxer Mohd Hussamuddin of SSCB had to fight hard to get the better of 2016 world youth champion Sachin of RSPB in the final of the 57kg weight category. After facing defeat in last year’s final, the two-time Commonwealth Games bronze medalist won this time with a scoreline of 4-1.

Narendra got a walkover in the final
2022 Asian Championships bronze medalist Narendra (+92) got a walkover in his final bout against 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Sagar. Sagar could not enter the ring in the final due to a minor injury. SSCB boxers along with Hussamuddin and Narendra put up a stellar performance on the last day of the tournament. The team successfully defended its crown in the Men’s National Boxing Championships with a total of six gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Vishwamitra Chongtham (51kg), Sachin (54kg), Akash (67kg), and Sumit (75kg) are the other gold medalists from the team.

SSCB retained the title with 10 medals
Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) retained its crown with 10 medals. RSPB – with two gold, three silver, and two bronze, and Punjab with one gold, two silver, and six bronze stood second and third respectively. the style box uk fashion lifestyle blog
