New Delhi. Russian actor Artur Smolyaninov has given a big blow to Russia. He once used to be one of the favorite film stars of Russian President Vladimir Putin , but now Russia has declared this film star as a foreign agent. Also Artur Smolyaninov is facing a criminal investigation. Meanwhile, he has issued a statement against Russia. Obviously, after this statement, Putin will get more angry. According to a CNN report, actor Artur Smolyaninov was once identified as Rambo of Russia. Smolyaninov was the protagonist in the 2005 Russian feature film Devyataya Rota (9th Company). He played the role of the last soldier standing during a battle in Afghanistan, which was occupied by Soviet forces for a decade.
But a lot has changed since then. The actor has been deported. And in a recent interview, he said that he is ready to fight on behalf of Ukraine and kill Russian soldiers. He told Novaya Gazeta last week that he felt nothing but hatred for the people on the Russian side and would show them no mercy if he were on that land. He even said that if he had to go to this war, he would fight only for Ukraine.
Russia therefore declared a foreign agent.
He further said that a former colleague of his had gone to fight on the Russian side. ‘Shall I shoot him? Of course! Do I keep my options open to fight on the side of Ukraine? Absolutely! This is the only way for me and if I have to go to this war, I will fight only for Ukraine.
Let us tell you that Smolyaninov has been very vocal about Russia’s attack on Ukraine and is constantly criticizing Russia. Recently, the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered that a criminal case be filed against Smolyaninov. Smolyaninov recently recorded a Soviet-era song Temnaya noch (Dark Night) with rewritten lyrics.
