Virbhadra Singh Statue at Ridge Ground: On 25 December 2020, the statue of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled at the Ridge Ground in Shimla. Shimla. A statue of the late former CM Virbhadra Singh will be installed at the Ridge Ground of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. An order has been issued by the state government in this regard and a DPR has been sought regarding the installation of the statue. Correspondence has been sent to DC Shimla on behalf of the Language, Art, and Culture Department.
According to the order of the government, an estimate has been sought from DC Shimla on the expenditure to be incurred for the installation of the statue. The work of idol construction will be handed over to the Public Works Department.
How high will the statue be
Significantly, the height of the statue of Virbhadra Singh will be around six feet and the reason for this will be 600 kg. The names of six sculptors have also been suggested in the correspondence, who have been asked to contact in this regard. At present, five places have been inspected on the ridge ground, where this statue is being installed. Apart from this, information has also been sought regarding the installation of a statue of Brigadier Ravi Mehta at Longwood Chowk in Shimla city.

Before this, statues of some other personalities have been installed on the ridge ground. Among them, the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, the woman Prime Minister of the country, former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, the first CM of Himachal, besides the statue of Lieutenant Daulat Singh is installed in the park along with the ridge.
