After this, the terrorist organization was looking for a new leader. Now a new revelation has come about from the head of Al-Qaeda. The US State Department has said that Saif al-Adel of Iran-based Egypt has become the head of al-Qaeda after the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri in July 2022. The United Nations released a report on this on Monday.

According to the news agency AFP, Saif al-Adl is a former colonel of the Egyptian army, and his association with al-Qaeda dates back to the 1980s. His important responsibility in the terrorist organization was to train the recruits in the terrorist training camp. It is believed that he had trained the terrorists to carry out the 9/11 terrorist attack. He was also responsible for the security of the dreaded terrorist Osama Bin Laden.

Nasser al-Bahri, the former bodyguard of Osama bin Laden, described Saif al-Adl as a leader in his book, Guarding Bin Laden: My Life in Al-Qaeda. However, Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan has not formally declared him as its chief, amid concerns from Taliban officials. At the same time, the report of the United Nations (UN) said that Al-Qaeda is sensitive to the issue of Saif al-Adel living in Iran.
