New Delhi. Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has got the advantage of winning the Australian Open Grand Slam title in the rankings. On the other hand, Aryan Sabalenka has also achieved a career-best ranking in the women’s singles category.

Prior to this, Djokovic was ranked fifth and this is the biggest jump in order to reach the top spot in the 50-year history of computerized rankings. This will be their 374th week with the top-ranking for Djokovic. Djokovic won his 10th Australian Open Championship and record-equalling 22nd Grand Slam title by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 7-6(4) 7-6(5) in the men’s singles final on Sunday.

Aryan Sabalenka, who won the title in the women’s category, has reached her career-best second ranking from fifth place in the WTA rankings. She is now behind three-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek. Sabalenka won the first Grand Slam of her career by defeating Elena Rybakina 4–6, 6–3, 6–4 in the final of the Australian Open.

On Jabber, who reached the final of the Gandslam twice last year, slipped from second to third place. Jessica Pegula, Caroline Garcia, and Coco Gough are in the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions respectively. Rybakina, who lost to Sabalenka in the final, reached the top 10 from the 25th position. In the ATP rankings, Alcaraz slipped to second place while Spanish legend Rafael Nadal slipped from second to sixth place. Tsitsipas, however, has improved one place to reach the third position. If he had defeated Djokovic in the final, he would have topped the rankings.
