It’s just the beginning! Name and trace have been found but Shinde’s real battle is yet to come! Know next exam
Maharashtra Politics: After Eknath Shinde’s separation from Uddhav Thackeray, the general belief was that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis would become the Chief Minister and Shinde would be his deputy. But BJP decided to make Shinde the CM of Maharashtra to give a message. Bal Thackeray dreamed of seeing an ordinary worker leading the Maharashtra government. By doing this, BJP also completed revenge on Uddhav Thackeray. Who broke ties with BJP in 2019 and became CM with the support of Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). But now it is a big challenge in front of Eknath Shinde to win the trust of the grassroots workers of Shiv Sena.

Highlights
1. Shinde knew that without the name of ‘Shiv Sena’ and the symbol of ‘bow and arrow’, the fight ahead would be brutal.
2. The Election Commission’s order has made their fight a little easier.
3. A big challenge for Shinde is to win the people’s hearts and bring back the old Shiv Sena supporters.
Mumbai. The Election Commission’s order in favour of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has boosted the self-confidence of his supporting MLAs and MPs. Who had separated from Uddhav Thackeray with him? To do this, it was important to get the name and symbol of the party. Shinde knew that without the name of ‘Shiv Sena’ and the election symbol of Bow and Arrow, it would be difficult for him to fight further election battles. Although the order of the Election Commission has made their fight a little easier, still the path is not completely free of challenges. Many challenges remain in front of Eknath Shinde. One of which is to re-establish itself in the minds of the people and bring back old Shiv Sena supporters.
The propaganda of ‘Khoke Sarkar‘ (government taking crores of rupees) and ‘traitor government’ by the Thackeray faction has tarnished the image of Eknath Shinde and his MLAs. Clearing that image and proving that his ‘Shiv Sena’ is the only Shiv Sena is going to be a herculean task for Shinde. For this, Shinde’s next target is to win the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. Shiv Sena is in power in BMC for the last two decades. After the split in the party, the responsibility of maintaining this fort has increased on Shinde. For this work, he is getting help from BJP, which got fewer seats than Shiv Sena in the last election.
With the grassroots workers still with Thackeray
another challenge looms large for Shinde in Mumbai. Even though Shiv Sena MLAs Yamini Jadhav, Prakash Surve, Dilip Lande and some MPs are with him, Shiv Sena’s grassroots workers are still with Thackeray. This was visible during Shiv Sena’s last annual Dussehra rally. Where there was a huge crowd in Thackeray’s program at Shivaji Park. Whereas when Eknath Shinde was giving his speech, people were seen leaving the rally ground. Shiv Sena’s real strength in urban areas is its shakha (ward-level party office). Citizens come there with their problems, which are usually resolved with the help of local party workers.
The real strength of Shiv Sena is the branch
in this way, Shiv Sena retains its vote bank. This model was started by Bal Thackeray in the early days of Shiv Sena with this purpose. Despite getting the name of the party, Shinde will not be able to capture all Shiv Sena shakhas. Because they are in the name of ‘Shivai Trust’, in which Shiv Sena leaders including Uddhav Thackeray are members. To counter this, Shinde has now started opening ward-level offices in Mumbai and its suburbs. But it will take more time for them to gain a foothold at the grassroots level. As seen on the ground, the general voter’s sympathy is with the Thackeray faction.
