Cirkus Movie Review: Director Rohit Shetty’s ‘multi-actor’ film ‘Circus’ has been released in theaters today. Many actors like Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline, Sanjay Mishra, Siddharth Yadav, Tikku Talsania, and Mukesh Tiwari are seen in this film with the double roles of Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma. The story of twin brothers or sisters is one of the most interesting subjects of Hindi cinema. Especially in the 60s and 70s, such stories are seen a lot. The funny thing is that on the Christmas of 2022, Rohit Shetty brought a similar story showing the era of the 60s, in which there are twin brothers. But will this film be able to entertain you in today’s era, let us tell you?

Story- The story of the film begins with Jamnadas Orphanage where there are two twin children, who are adopted in two different cities. One is brought up in Ooty while the other is in Bangalore. Ooty-based Roy (Ranveer Singh) and Joy (Varun Sharma) run a circus and this Ranveer Singh is an ‘electric man’ who does not feel electric current. While the other pair of brothers are in Bangalore. The connection between both the Roys is of ‘current’. That is, when Roy, who works in the circus, i.e. Electric Man, does a show, then Roy, who lives in Bangalore, get electrocuted. Now how do these two brothers meet, and what do they do, this is the story of this film.

The story of the 60’s era should have been made only then.
First of all, talking about the content, Rohit Shetty is the director who has given the maximum number of films in the 100 crore club, but this time his arrow has not even reached the target. The story of this film is very boring and worn out. This film shows the era of the ’60s and believes me, it is only of the content of that era. Don’t expect newness, a twist from this film. From beginning to end, at no point will you feel like ‘what will happen next’. Rather, after seeing many scenes, this feeling will come, ‘Ab aage toh badhao yaar…’ In fact, the level of humor that is expected from Rohit Shetty, ‘Circus’ does not stay at that level.

Rohit Shetty has made comedy films like ‘All the Best’, and ‘Golmaal’ and in his ‘Circus’ you will see a skit of all the old characters from these films. Leaving the lead hero-heroines, you will remember their old films after watching every character again and again. Think, Sanjay Mishra is an actor of that level who can enliven even the worst of films with his style, but in this film, he also speaks the dialogue in such a slow and repetitive manner that it irritates.

The boredom of the story and the old characters will not make you laugh anywhere. At the same time, lead actor Ranveer Singh also could not do anything amazing by emerging in this masala film. However, the best thing is that Ranveer Singh has not gone over the top anywhere in this film, which he could have easily gone. On the other hand, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline are looking very beautiful in their respective characters. In this entire film, if someone has been the funniest and most successful in making us laugh, then it is actor Siddharth Jadhav, whose every scene has been funny.

‘Circus’ is that film, which you will not miss if you do not watch it in the theatre. It is useless to waste money and time on this film. If you believe me, then wait for a while, it will come on TV or OTT, then you will see. 2 stars for this film from my side (that too for Siddharth Jadhav and Ranveer Singh).
