Mumbai Online Fraud: Cab booking and confirmation payment of Rs 101, just drowned two and a half million

Mumbai Online Fraud: The present time is the digital age। There are many special things in the digital age। But one disadvantage is that online fraud also happens faster today। In Goregaon, Mumbai, a person has been licked by cyber thugs for two and a half lakh rupees। Actually, an attempt was made to book a one-man double taxi to go to his hometown in Gujarat। Mumbai police told on the matter that a link was sent by cyber thugs asking them to confirm the payment of Rs 101। After this when the payment was confirmed by the person through that notification, Rs 2,49,121 disappeared from his account.

What is the whole matter

A cab booking was attempted by a person to go to his hometown through a portal। The victim sent a request to the portal for cab booking। After this, a call from an unknown person came and told that he is an employee of the cab portal। The caller told the Goregaon resident that the cab fare would be Rs 1900। It was then asked to confirm its booking by paying a fee of Rs 101 to confirm the booking.

Fraud while compiling the transaction

The person then tried to pay Rs 101 to confirm the booking। The victim attempted to pay a nominal fee using SBI and ICICI bank cards। This transaction then fails। Police said that immediately after the incident, police were told that Rs 2,49,121 had been withdrawn from the victim’s account। When the case caught the balance, the Goregaon resident was asked by the bank whether he had done this transaction। The man then denied after which the Goregaon resident was asked to block his bank card.
