New Delhi. An Indian Army soldier, who went on a rescue mission to help the earthquake-ravaged people in Turkey, has received good news from his home. After the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey last Monday, India was sending another army contingent to Turkey and Syria to help in relief and rescue operations. Havildar Rahul Chaudhary was called to be a part of this 99-member team. At that time the wife of Havildar Rahul Chaudhary was about to give birth to a child. Havildar Rahul Chaudhary was confused about his duty between the country and the family. Because his passport was already stamped.
According to a report in India Today, Havaldar Rahul Chaudhary, a resident of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, said that he went straight to his seniors and informed them about his wife’s cesarean surgery scheduled for February 8. Seniors asked Rahul Chaudhary to talk to his wife and when he talked to his wife, she asked Rahul Chaudhary to go with his team. Chaudhary told that their wife told him that ‘I should serve my country first’.
After this, Rahul Chaudhary quickly packed his bag and left to join his team. As soon as he boarded the flight, he learned that his wife had been taken to the operating theatre. As soon as he landed in Turkey, he got the news of the birth of his son. Now his colleagues and friends in the army hospital want him to name his child ‘Turki Chowdhary’. Significantly, another Indian Army soldier Kamlesh Kumar Chauhan has also become the father of a son after landing in Turkey. Kamlesh is a resident of Gorakhpur in UP. The death toll from the February 6 earthquake in Turkey and Syria has now crossed 34,000. Many countries of the world have sent teams to Turkey and Syria to help in the search and rescue work. India has also sent NDRF and troops under ‘Operation Dost’.
