Islamabad. While on the one hand, Pakistan is seeking Russia’s help to save its economy (Pakistan Economic Crisis), on the other hand, it is cheating by helping Ukraine. Pakistan backstabs Moscow by covertly supplying domestically produced weapons to Ukraine amid efforts to buy oil from Russia at subsidized rates to support the sinking economy, news agency ANI reported on Geopolitics. is stabbing.

According to the report, on January 20, the eighth session of the Pakistan-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation was held in Islamabad to push forward the deal to buy oil from Russia by the end of March. The session was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Minister of Economic Affairs Ayaz Sadiq and Russia’s Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov and was attended by an 80-member delegation including members of Russia’s business community. A joint statement by the two governments said they have agreed to work on a “comprehensive plan for energy cooperation”, which will be finalized this year.

Both Pakistan and Russia signed an agreement on customs matters including data on the customs value of goods between the countries and a working agreement on aeronautical products. However, the Geopolitics report also claimed that Pakistan is also earning money by supplying ammunition to Ukraine and other countries around Russia through a company named Kestral. Notably, Kestrel CEO Liaquat Ali Baig traveled to Poland, Romania, and Slovakia in May and June 2022.

In return, Pakistan has sought Ukraine’s help for servicing and repairing their “TV3-117VM engine” used in Mi-17 helicopters. This is not the first example of Pakistan’s hypocritical attitude towards Russia. Pakistan reportedly supported the US-led proxy war in Afghanistan in the 1980s as a means of training, arming, and controlling the “mujahideen” who fought the erstwhile USSR, killing about 15,000. Russian deaths occurred.
