New Delhi. The Supreme Court on Monday said that it is extremely disturbed by the dismantling of technical arrangements for virtual hearings by some Chief Justices of High Courts. The Supreme Court has recommended not to dissolve the hybrid hearing option. Also said that public money cannot be misused in this way. Chief Justice of India D.Y. A bench headed by Chandrachud (CJI DY Chandrachud) heard the petition seeking to declare virtual hearing as a fundamental right.

The bench said that virtual technology was not only for the time of the pandemic. A bench headed by the CJI remarked that all Chief Justices need to learn to use technology, whether they are tech-friendly or not. CJI D.Y. Commenting on this, Chandrachud also said that a huge budget has been allocated, which needs to be utilized. The Supreme Court said that whether the Chief Justice understands technology or not, he is bound by duty.

The CJI further said that the problem started because of this. Because some Chief Justices liked technology. While some did not like it. Although he said that everyone should be familiar with the technology. The Chief Justice of India told that the central government had sanctioned Rs 7,000 crore for the third phase of the e-court project. Which can be used to provide technology to lawyers. The court concluded the hearing by saying that it would prepare and pass the order.

The Chief Justice said that it is permanent and the infrastructure should not be destroyed in this way. He said, “We will pass the order. We will ensure that no one is left behind because of technology.
