Team India’s dashing batsman will not return in the second test as well

New Delhi. The Indian cricket team made a bang in the 4-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Rohit Sharma’s team India won the first Test in Nagpur in just 3 days. The second Test will be played in Delhi from 17 February. Before this match, there has been a big update regarding the fitness of star batsman Shreyas Iyer. Iyer is finding it difficult to play in the Delhi Test.

Shreyas suffered a back injury during the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka last month. For this reason, he could not play in the Nagpur Test. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Now it has come to know about his injury that he is not a match fit. In such a situation, the team management does not want to take the risk of fielding him directly in the Test match.

Iyer will have to regain match fitness
According to the report of the news agency PTI, Shreyas Iyer is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. But according to the criteria set by the BCCI to return to international cricket, Iyer will have to play a domestic match to prove his match fitness before returning to Team India.

Shreyas Iyer may be asked to play in the Irani Cup match between Ranji champions Madhya Pradesh and the Rest of India from March 1 to 5. If Iyer does not play then Suryakumar Yadav may get another chance. Suryakumar made his debut in the Nagpur Test. But he could not play big innings.
