South Korean army ready for close cooperation with America
South Korea’s military says that North Korea fired two ballistic missiles in the Sukhon area of North Korea between 7 am and 7.11 am according to South Korea’s time. South Korean military officials said in a statement that the South Korean military is fully prepared for closer cooperation with the US while strengthening the country’s security and surveillance.
North Korea took this step a day after the joint air exercise
South Korea’s military said North Korea’s move came a day after the US and South Korea held a joint aerial bomb-dropping drill on Sunday. According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), South Korea’s F-35A stealth fighters and F-15K jets flew alongside US F-16 fighters during the military exercise.
Earlier, North Korea announced that it had demonstrated an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) during a military parade on February 18, following which the US and South Korea began joint drills.
