News agency IANS quoted a piece of news from local media as saying that the prices of chicken and chicken meat (Chicken price in Pakistan) in the country have increased rapidly in entire Pakistan including Karachi city. Sama TV reported that the current price of chicken in Karachi is Rs 490 per kg, while the price of chicken meat has reached Rs 720 per kg. Poultry business owners have cited feed shortage as the reason behind the skyrocketing prices. It was told in the report that one kilogram of poultry meat is being sold for Rs 720 in Karachi. Sama TV reported that the price of chicken has also reached an all-time high in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and some other cities, with one kilogram of poultry meat being sold for Rs 700-705. Meanwhile, the price of chicken meat in Lahore, the country’s second most populous city, is running between Rs 550-600 per kg. These rising prices have been a cause of concern for many consumers, who rely on chicken as their main source of protein.

Even
as Pakistan is going through an unprecedented economic crisis, the price of black tea in the cash-strapped country has increased from Rs 1,100 to Rs 1,600 per kg in the last 15 days. A retailer said that a leading brand has increased the price of 170-gram granulated cardamom packs from Rs 290 to Rs 320 and Rs 350. The 900 and 420-gram packs are now priced at Rs 1,480 and Rs 720 as against Rs 1,350 and Rs 550, respectively. Other packers are also ready to increase the price. Zeeshan Maqsood, convenor of the Standing Committee on Tea of ​​the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), said that imports are currently in trouble, which could lead to a huge shortfall in March, Dawn reported.
