Inflation hits the dying people of Pakistan, now 1KG chicken is ₹ 780, don’t even ask the price of milk

Pakistan Crisis: Chicken meat is now being sold at Rs 700-780 per kg which was earlier Rs 620-650 per kg, reports said that the price of meat with bone has gone up to Rs 1,000-1,100 per kg. On milk prices, Waheed Gaddi, media coordinator of the Karachi Milk Retailers Association, told Dawn that “over 1,000 shopkeepers are selling milk at inflated prices. These are actually wholesalers/dairy shops and not our members. He further said that if the price hike announced by dairies and wholesalers remains the same, then the price of milk will be Rs 220 per liter instead of Rs 210.

Islamabad: After the floods in Pakistan, there is a furor due to rising inflation. Poor Pakistan needs a bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), but after accepting the harsh conditions of the IMF, inflation in Pakistan may increase further. The situation here is getting worse day by day, it has become difficult for people to buy everyday items. Now the news is coming that the prices of milk and chicken have increased again. Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported that the prices of loose milk have been increased from Rs 190 per liter to Rs 210 per liter and chicken has seen an increase of Rs 30-40 per kg in the last two days, with it now costing Rs 480- 500 per kg has been done.

On the rising rates of poultry, Kamal Akhtar Siddiqui, general secretary of the Sindh Poultry Wholesalers Association, said that the wholesale rate of live chicken was Rs 600 per kg, while the rate of its meat was Rs 650 and Rs 700. The new prices come amid a deadlock in talks between the IMF and Pakistan. It comes as a blow to Shehbaz Sharif’s government as the country struggles to recover from record-breaking floods last year that killed 1,739 people and destroyed 2 million homes.
