Cricketer arrested for raping 17-year-old girl got bail, the board gave place in playing-11

Last year, Sandeep Lamichhane, a cricketer from Nepal, was accused of raping a 17-year-old girl. After which he was also jailed. Now after about 3 months, Sandeep has been released from jail. He has also been included in the squad of the Tri-Series by the Nepal Cricket Board.

New Delhi: Nepal cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane was accused of rape last year. After which he was arrested and sent to jail. The Nepal Cricket Board also banned him. However, things seem to be getting clearer for Sandeep now. In fact, he has now been included in the squad for the tri-series to be held in Nepal.

Sandeep Lamichhane got bail about 1 week ago after being in jail for about 3 months. After coming out of jail, the Nepal Cricket Board also lifted the ban on him and included him back in the squad. However, the case against him is still going on. Please tell that in the year 2022, Sandeep is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl in a hotel room. He has now been included in the squad to play in the tri-series against Namibia and Scotland. This series will be played from 14 to 21 February.

On September 8, a court in Nepal issued an arrest warrant for Lamichhane. After which he was arrested. According to court sources, the Patan High Court has ordered the release of Lamichhane on a surety of Rs 2 lakh. Lamichhane was taken into custody in October.

Let us tell you that Sandeep batted in 31 ODIs and 40 T20 Internationals in his international career. During this, he scored 170 and 48 runs respectively. Talking about the bowling, he has taken more than 100 wickets in both formats.
