New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the third session of the National Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR) on March 10 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The theme of the session ‘Building local resilience in a changing climate’ is aligned with the 10-point agenda announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build local capacities in the wake of climate change, especially in the context of the rapidly changing disaster risk landscape Can go Under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah, NPDRR is a multi-stakeholder national forum, which describes the process where all stakeholders come together to discuss ideas, actions on disaster risk reduction (DRR). The inauguration ceremony will be followed by a special ministerial session chaired by Amit Shah, where ministers from the Centre, states and union territories will deliberate on further strengthening the disaster risk reduction systems at various levels. The meeting is taking place during the Amrit Kaal and the deliberations of the third session of NPDRR will help the government to make India disaster-resilient by 2030 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision-2047.
