Lahore: Police have reached outside the residence of Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The police can arrest them at any time. Imran Khan’s supporters pelted stones at the police team. According to Pakistan’s news agency Dawn, a team of armoured police has reached outside the residence which can arrest them at any time. Imran Khan was already facing trial in the court in the Toshakhana case and now he has been accused of threatening a woman judge and senior police officers. In this case, the court issued a non-bailable warrant and ordered the police to arrest him.
Senior PTI leader Farooq Habib told reporters that come what may, Imran Khan would not surrender to the police in fake cases. Habib said, “The Islamabad High Court today suspended the arrest warrant in the case related to threatening a woman judge. Let’s see what new warrant the police have come up with now.” A senior police officer of the Islamabad Police said that their team is here to arrest Khan in the Toshakhana case.

On one hand, the Shehbaz Sharif government is scrambling to put Imran Khan in jail, but the former prime minister has taken a defiant stand and held a big rally in Lahore on Tuesday, indirectly attacking the judiciary as well as the government. is also challenged. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chairman Imran Khan has announced to organize an even bigger rally next Sunday. According to this programme, a ‘historic’ rally will be organized in front of Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on March 19.
Efforts are being made to arrest Imran Khan in two cases. One of these cases is allegedly threatening a judge. The second is the Toshakhana case, in which it is alleged that Imran Khan sold gifts received as Prime Minister. The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against Khan for threatening a judge.
Imran Khan has been avoiding appearing in court personally in the Judge Intimidation and Toshakhana cases. He had given a petition in the court to be exempted from personal appearance. But the civil judge of Islamabad has rejected this petition. Also, the judge has ordered the police to present Imran Khan before the court before March 29. Following this order, a team of Islamabad Police has been sent to Lahore.
