Traditionally, Saudi Arabia is close to Pakistan in terms of defense। This is why Saudi had curtailed defense relations with India। But, given the current strategic conditions, Saudi Arabia is increasingly strengthening its relations with India.

India-Saudi arab: 8 Indian Airforce fighter aircraft have landed on Saudi Arabian soil। This is the first time in history that Indian Air Force aircraft have landed on Saudi Arabian soil। On 26 February, 8 Indian fighter aircraft landed at Saudi Arabia’s airbase। This is being touted as a ‘friendly’ stopover। Under this, the aircraft was refueled and maintenance was investigated here.

Prior to today, no Indian Air Force aircraft landed at any Saudi Arabian air base। This event is considered a historical moment in relations between India and Saudi Arabia। Traditionally, Saudi Arabia is close to Pakistan in terms of defense। This is why Saudi had curtailed defense relations with India। But, given the current strategic conditions, Saudi Arabia is increasingly strengthening its relations with India.

These aircraft of Indian Indian Airforce arrived in Saudi

It is being reported that among the Indian aircraft that landed at Saudi Arabia’s Airforce Base, 5 Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft, Two C-17 transport aircraft and one IL-78 tanker were involved। 145 air warriors were also present in these aircraft। They stayed at the base of Saudi Arabia overnight and left in the morning। On this historic occasion, Indian Ambassador Dr. Suhail Ajaz Khan, Defense Attache Colonel GS Grewal met the Indian Air Warriors। This Indian Air Force team left on 27 February to participate in the Cobra Warriors 23 exercise to be held in Britain। During the meeting, Indian Ambassador Dr. Khan highlighted the growing relationship between India and Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan will feel chilly

Pakistan fears that Saudi Arabia will not hold India’s hand except for its defense needs, when the Indian Air Force lands on the Saudi airbase। Pakistan has been training Saudi Arabian forces since the beginning। Currently a small contingent of Pakistani army is present in Saudi Arabia। If the defense grows away in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, it will be a great news for India। Pakistan is in lieu of this money from Saudi Arabia.
