In fact, the first match of the IPL will be played on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This will be the time when the New Zealand team will be playing ODI and T20 series from Sri Lanka. The Test series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand is currently underway. After this, there will be three ODIs and three T20 matches. This series will end on April 8. That is, the players of New Zealand and Sri Lanka would not be able to play IPL till at least 8th April, it was feared. But now it has been cleared by the New Zealand Cricket Board that all the players selected by the teams in the IPL will join their respective IPL franchises even before the first match of the IPL. With this, IPL teams can heave a sigh of relief. Although Sri Lankan players also play IPL, the picture regarding them is not clear yet.
New Zealand players will join their respective IPL franchises after the first ODI
The first match of the ongoing Test series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka has been held, in which the Sri Lankan team lost by two wickets. After this, the second Test will be played from 17 to 21 March. After this, the One Day series will start, whose matches will be played on 25, 28 and 31 March. Meanwhile, the New Zealand team for the ODI series has been announced. Kane Williamson will not be there in this, it is said that he has been given rest. The command of the team will be in the hands of Tom Latham, who does not play IPL. For the players who have played IPL and have been selected for the team, it is written in front of their names that they will be available for the first ODI only. After this will come to India. This will no longer be a problem for IPL teams and they will be in a position to field players bought at high prices in the very first match itself. However, the screw is stuck regarding the players of South Africa. His players miss the first few matches. It has to be seen what kind of agreement is reached between the BCCI and Cricket South Africa regarding this matter and the picture regarding Sri Lankan players is yet to be precise.
