Manish Sisodia
New Delhi: Manish Sisodia is not relieved in the Delhi liquor scam। Rouge Avenue Court has extended his CBI remand by 2 days। He will now be on remand of CBI till 6 March। However, the CBI sought 3 days remand of Sisodia। CBI counsel for remand argued that Sisodia is not cooperating in the investigation। Sisodia’s lawyer has opposed the demand for remand। Sisodia’s lawyer has said that non-cooperation in the investigation cannot be the basis for remand.
Court asked – how long the inquiry?
During the hearing, the court asked the CBI how long Manish Sisodia was questioned during this remand? The CBI told the court that it is still not cooperating। Senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan, presented on behalf of Manish Sisodia, opposed the CBI’s application to increase remand। Sisodia’s lawyer Krishnan argues that it is not appropriate for the CBI to demand an increase in remand.
Hearing on bail on March 10
Earlier, Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi has set a date for March 10 for hearing the bail petition of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia। The court has also issued a notice to the CBI on Sisodia’s bail petition। Meaning that Manish Sisodia cannot get bail before Holi and he will remain in CBI custody right now.
