Senior train traveling reduced

An RTI was quoted as saying that in the year 2022, about 1.2 crore senior citizens traveled by train, earning the railway Rs 150 crore। Earlier in 2019, there were 7.4 crore senior citizen train passengers from which the railway had earned revenue of Rs 1,663 crore। RTI data also showed that between 2019 and 2022, there was a nearly 30 percent increase in total tickets booked in all categories, And between 2021 and 2022 it has increased by 12 percent। In 2019, the railway booked 42 crore tickets, earning Rs 36,380 crore। In 2022, it increased to 53.54 crore tickets, giving Rs 47,757 crore in revenue.
