Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated Holi in a different way, making a video call to father Lalu
Tej Pratap welcomed the visitors by wearing the “Mor Mukut” (a crown adorned with peacock feathers). He describes himself as a devotee of Lord Krishna. On this occasion, some women dressed as Krishna’s “Gopis” performed “Lath Maar” Holi.

Patna: Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated Holi in Patna on Wednesday in the style of his father and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad. Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad is recuperating in Delhi after a kidney transplant. But Tej Pratap present in Patna made a video call to his father and turned the phone screen towards the people. Lalu said to him, “Wish you a very Happy Holi. I am not well, so you are far away but my best wishes are always with you. Let me recover, and then we will celebrate Holi with a bang.”
Greeted people wearing peacock crowns
Tej Pratap welcomed the visitors by wearing the “Mor Mukut” (a crown adorned with peacock feathers). He describes himself as a devotee of Lord Krishna. On this occasion, some women dressed as Krishna’s “Gopis” performed “Lath Maar” Holi. This type of Holi is celebrated in Barsana near Mathura. Tej Pratap along with his supporters also played “Kurta Phad” Holi like the RJD President.

Festival of colours celebrated with pomp across the country
The festival of colours was celebrated across the country on Wednesday with people applying colour and gulal to each other and distributing sweets, while youth danced to Holi songs. After three years due to the Covid pandemic, people celebrated the festival of Holi with traditional fervour and gaiety. In most parts of the country, Holi was celebrated on Wednesday, although in some areas, Holi was celebrated on Tuesday only. President Draupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders greeted people on the occasion. Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Many wishes for Holi. May your lives be filled with joy and happiness always.” US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo attended Holi celebrations at the official residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Raimondo is currently on a tour of India.
