Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar movie English review: Luv Ranjan is once again among the audience with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s film ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’. ‘International Women’s Day’ and Holi i.e. on March 8, the film is being released in theatres. Talking about the film, Luv Ranjan has once again decided to serve the rom-com lovers of Bollywood who have been disappointed with the industry for a long time. Because Luv Ranjan as a director and Ranbir Kapoor as an actor has always been the rom-com kings. In such a situation, the glamour of Shraddha Kapoor is making this rom-com even more perfect. Not only this, but Luv Ranjan has also hidden amazing twists and big surprises in the film. If you are planning to watch this movie this week, then definitely read this review…
Story of the movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar‘
The last rom-com of Ranbir Kapoor’s career (as he himself said in several interviews), the story of the film is the love story of Mickey and Tinni. Who meet at their respective best friend’s bachelor party. Mickey does business with his friend Mannu (Anubhav Singh Bassi), in which he does break-ups for a hefty amount, in which he adopts various tricks to make the boy or girl break up happily. This business of Mickey and Mannu is not for earning money, they do favours to people (as they say). Along with this, Mickey is from a businessman family, opposite to this, Tiny has a nine-to-five job.
After Mickey and Tinni meet, the two fall in love with some light-hearted Bollywood moments and flirty, romantic songs. Soon their families meet, there is talk of marriage and they are about to get engaged but something happens they break up. After which a break-up song and then the meeting of the two, then a peppy party song and later, family, emotion dosti all come together. The viewers will witness several emotional clashes at once.
It is very important to talk about the climax separately because Luv Ranjan has once again brought Bollywood’s most favourite airport climax here. But this time it is not as simple as breaking a traffic signal or picking up a stranger’s car and stopping a flying flight to stop your love. Rather, Luv Ranjan has added such a tinge to it that Bollywood movie lovers will laugh, and get emotional and tears can appear in their eyes. It would not be wrong to say that the climax has done its job and made the moviegoers laugh and clap. The dialogues and punchlines are whistle worthy in some parts.
Karthik and Nushrat’s surprise in the story
For those who missed Karthik Aryan and Nushrat Bharucha in the film, Luv Ranjan has entered both of them as a surprise package. Both actors appear in front of the audience in such a way that their laughter will not stop. Here Nushrat will narrate the story of ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ in her sad love story. So on the other hand, Karthik will stop the plagiarism of his monologue ‘Problem Yeh Hai…’.
Story of an independent girl on ‘Woman’s Day
The film is releasing on ‘Women’s Day’, so Luv Ranjan has also taken care that today’s working and independent-minded girls should also be given a place in the story. What thoughts go through the mind of a girl working in the name of a joint family, or how she has to compromise on her career, has been shown well as Shraddha’s mother. At the same time, it has also come out in the best way that how Indian families need to change their views about women. So that never a woman is forced to give up her love in the name of joining a joint family.
How is the direction of Luv Ranjan
Talking about the direction of the film, the frames of the film are very colourful and match the story. Luv Ranjan has made a film here touching on very common issues between couples that most couples go through in today’s time. Director Luv Ranjan, who is known for hit films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 1 and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, is back with another heart-wrenching film. But directionally, the first half was weak and poorly written. At the same time, in the second half, the film comes out in full swing. There is tightness in the direction, and the film does not seem to deviate from the story anywhere. Luv Ranjan has tried to bring all the flavours a commercial film should have, which has also been successful.
How is whose acting
Ranbir Kapoor is always a visual treat to watch on-screen, and he shines once again as Mickey. From his comic timing to the self-obsessed, boy next door to his charm and shirtless scenes, Ranbir did a great job. However, it is very refreshing to see him in a somewhat different role than before.
Shraddha Kapoor as Tiny is completely connected with her character. Throughout the story, he left no stone unturned with acting, beauty and dialogue delivery. There are some amazing shots of Shraddha in bikini looks and some gorgeous dresses. There is no doubt that she looks good with Ranbir on-screen.
Dimple Kapadia plays Ranbir Kapoor’s mother and is perfect as ever, Dimple also seems to have perfect comic timing and fun as a Punjabi mother. Who can randomly slap anyone, and no one cares. On the other hand, Boney Kapoor has also brought a boring, non-formal father sitting in front of the TV on the screen well.
Anubhav Singh Bassi has made people laugh while playing the role of Mannu. Bassi looks good on screen with his punchlines, but he still needs to work on his acting.
Movie flaws
As already mentioned, the first half of the film is a bit weak. In the film, the character of a small girl has been shown to be money minded and talking like adults, which is not acceptable in Indian society, the film is fine but it is necessary to show children like children. As well as Luv Ranjan showed the breakup of Ranbir Shraddha, he could not show the love between the two with such perfection.
Music is strong
Like Bollywood films, this film also has a song for every situation, on Ranbir’s entry, on Shraddha’s entry, when both meet, then when they part, and then when they meet again. Pyaar Hota Kabhi Baar Hai, Tere Pyaar Mein, Maine Pee Rakhi Hai, O Bedardaya, Show Me The Thumka, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar – Title Song, Rainbow Lights, all the songs are great. It can be said that Pritam has given many superhit songs to Ranbir even before this, once again Pritam’s lucky charm has been found for Ranbir.
So how is the final ‘Tu Jhootha Main Makkar’
If you are a rom-com lover, then you will enjoy the film a lot. A must-watch for Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor fans. If you appreciate good Bollywood songs, then you will like this film. If you have ever gone through a breakup then this movie is for you, if you love your family then this movie is for you and only.
