Russia-Ukraine War: Russia deploys a new set of Boomerang drones in Ukraine, know how dangerous it is
Russia-Ukraine War: Russia has been using Iran-made Shaheed-136 drones and several sets of homemade drones to wreak havoc on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Shaheed-136 drone is a long-range drone. It is designed to attack ground targets at range. Russia started using the Shaheed-136 drone in September last year while attacking military bases in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. Iran’s government says it supplied a “small number” of drones to Russia before the war. However, the US and the European Union have accused Iran of sending regular deliveries of drones to Russia. On the other hand, Ukraine is also using Turkish Bayraktar TB2 against Russian troops. Kyiv has used this drone against Russian tanks and armoured vehicles.

Kyiv: Like last year in the war against Ukraine, Russia is now resorting to drones this year as well. He is now deploying a new set of drones to capture the cities of Ukraine. A video recently released by the Russian Defense Ministry showed Russian forces using new drones to attack Ukrainian military positions. However, the ministry did not disclose any information about its manufacture and the source of the drone.
Kremlin last year deployed Iranian-made drones, known as kamikaze drones, to carry out airstrikes on Ukrainian infrastructure. However, British defence officials have suggested that Moscow has phased out the drones. In a change of strategy, the Kremlin has released a new Boomerang VR (virtual reality) headset-controlled kamikaze drone.
According to Newsweek’s report, the drone is operated by two soldiers – an operator and an assistant. While the operator uses a VR headset to find and hit the target, the assistant operator launches the drone and tracks its flight direction to help guide the operator. It consists of four rotors, four small engines and a large storage battery. It can travel up to 110 mph (17 kph) and can engage targets while in flight. It can target the soldiers present in the shelters. It consists of a special container filled with explosive elements. It can stay in the air for at least three hours.
