Xi Jinping Address: Xi Jinping has become the President of China for a third consecutive term. They have emerged stronger. After becoming the President again, he made a big statement regarding the People’s Liberation Army PLA. Amidst the ongoing tension with India on LAC and the ongoing tension with Taiwan, he said that the time has come to make PLA a ‘Great Wall of Steel’. So that the sovereignty of the country can be protected. Xi Jinping made the remarks at the start of his unprecedented third term as president and army chief. Jinping also appealed to maintain the leadership of the ruling Communist Party of China ie ‘CPC’.
At the NPC closing ceremony, Jinping stressed advancing the modernization of the national and armed forces on all fronts. He called for the Armed Forces to be built as a Great Wall of Steel that can defend national sovereignty, security and development interests with might.
President Jinping spoke of resolutely opposing external interference and separatist activities regarding Taiwan’s independence. Jinping has talked about strengthening and modernizing the armed forces at a time when the tension with India on China’s LAC i.e. Line of Actual Control remains intact. Although several rounds of military-level talks have taken place, relations are still not normal. At the same time, the tension between America and China regarding Taiwan was also well-known last year. Seeing this confrontation can take a big form anytime, Jinping talked about further upgrading his army.
