IPL 2023: In the first match of IPL 16, a piece of sad news has come to the fore on Sunday for Gujarat Titans, who started with a spectacular win against Chennai Super Kings. Hardik Pandya’s team definitely won the first match but the team got such pain that would haunt the entire season. The team’s star player Kane Williamson is now out for the entire season. This could prove to be a huge blow for the defending champion Gujarat. The franchisee has shared this information from his Twitter account.
Gujarat Titans gave this information on their official Twitter handle. It was written in this tweet that, we have to inform you with sadness that Kane Williamson is now out of the entire IPL 2023. He suffered the injury in the season-opening match against Chennai Super Kings. We wish our Titan a speedy recovery and a speedy comeback. Significantly, Kane was injured while trying to stop a shot on the boundary line. Information about ACL injury was revealed in the knee of his right leg. He can stay out for 2-3 months.
We regret to announce, Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the TATA IPL 2023, after sustaining an injury in the season opener against Chennai Super Kings.

How did Williamson get injured?
Actually, this is about the first match of the season when CSK was in front of Gujarat. Joshua Little was throwing the 13th over of Chennai’s innings. On the second ball of this over, CSK batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad hit a long shot and the ball was going outside the boundary line, when Kane Williamson, standing near the boundary line, did excellent fielding and tried his best to catch the ball. But he went outside the boundary and his knee got twisted and he fell on the ground moaning in pain. Kane saved 2 runs for the team with brilliant fielding but he could not get up and stand on his own and could not walk on his own. He was taken out of support.
In the first match for Gujarat Titans, Williamson was unable to bat and Sai Sudarshan was brought in as an impact player. Now his departure has weakened the middle order of the team. It has to be seen whether the franchisee announces a replacement or not. It will also be interesting to see who will be the replacement even if it comes. David Miller did not play the first match due to National Duty. On 4th April, Gujarat will play their second match against Delhi Capitals. It is expected that Miller will come then and the team’s troubles can be reduced to some extent.
